Left ventricular hypertrophy in Fabry disease: a practical approach to diagnosis
نویسندگان
چکیده
Left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) is prevalent and associated with a poor long-term prognosis. The Framingham Heart Study, for example, showed that LVH was present in 15–20% of adults, and that, for each 50 g/m increment of left ventricular mass, the relative risk of cardiovascular death increased by 1.73 in men and 2.12 in women. Although hypertension, obesity and valvulopathies account for most causes of LVH, it is important to investigate patients with otherwise unexplained LVH since many causes are treatable.

The meaning of the hypertropy word is the increasing size.Heart hypertropy is symptoms of increase the thickness of the heart muscle that the left ventricular hypertrophy of them is the most common. The causes of hypertrophy heart disease are high blood pressure , aortic valve stenosis and sport activities respectively. Assessment of that by using ECG signal analysis is essential Because the ris...

Anderson-Fabry disease is an X-linked lysosomal storage disorder caused by abnormalities of the GLA gene, which encodes the enzyme α-galactosidase A. A deficiency of this enzyme leads to the lysosomal accumulation of glycosphingolipids, which may cause left ventricular hypertrophy that is typically concentric and symmetric. We present the case of a 60-year-old woman with symptoms of dyspnea, at...

Fabry disease is a rare X-linked lysosomal storage disorder caused by mutations in the alpha-galactosidase gene. The most frequent cardiac presentation of Fabry disease is cardiomyopathy characterized by left ventricular (LV) hypertrophy, usually concentric. Heart disease in affected females tends to be clinically recognized later than in males and cardiac complications are the most frequently ...

The Anderson-Fabry disease (AFD) is an X-linked glycosphingolipidosis leading to a progressive systemic disease. A particular variant of the disease of AFD presents only with left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH). Molecular diagnosis with bidirectional sequencing fails to detect genomic re-arrangements in female patients because of the presence of the wt allele. We here propose a quantitative PCR-...

Fabry disease is a rare, inherited disease with lack of the enzyme alpha-galactosidase A (α-Gal) in the cells of the body that participates in the breakdown of fat. The disease begins in early childhood, progresses slowly throughout life and results in severe damage of the kidneys, heart and central nervous system. The disease is life-threatening and if left untreated, death ...
